Affected by the impact of the new round of new crown pneumonia epidemic, the recovery of global LED industry demand in 2021 will bring rebound growth. In the first three quarters of 2021, China’s total exports of lighting products totaled US$47 billion, a year-on-year increase of 32.7%, an increase of 40.2% over the same period in 2019, and a two-year average growth rate of 11.9%. Among them, the export value of LED lighting products was 33.8 billion U.S. dollars, a year-on-year increase of 36.0% and an increase of 44.5% over the same period in 2019. The two-year average growth rate reached 13.1%. The high growth of various lighting products was the main driving force.
Recently, the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council issued the "Notice on the 2022 Tariff Adjustment Program" (Tax Commission [2021] No. 18). Starting from January 1, 2022, the import and export tariffs of some commodities will be adjusted.
This adjustment clearly stipulates the most-favored-nation tax rate and general tax rate of products listed in the new tariff code. This will help optimize and upgrade the lighting industry, promote the participation of my country’s lighting enterprises in the international division of labor, and give full play to the freedom of my country’s lighting products that have been signed and entered into force. The export advantages of the countries and regions of the trade agreement have promoted the development of my country's lighting industry to the mid-to-high end.
